About David

David is seven years old, with bright eyes that light up every time his teacher writes something new on the blackboard. He sits in the front row at Mnini Primary School, always eager to be the first to raise his hand.

Born into a farming family on the outskirts of Moshi, David walks nearly two kilometers to school each morning. His mother rises before dawn to prepare his porridge, knowing that a full stomach means her son can focus on his lessons.

In the classroom, David has earned a reputation as the boy who never stops asking questions. His teachers describe him as endlessly curious—whether the subject is mathematics, Swahili, or stories about the world beyond Mount Kilimanjaro.

David's favorite subject is science. He dreams of understanding how things work: why the rains come, how plants grow, what makes the stars shine at night. His teacher, Madam Rosalia, often finds him lingering after class, asking just one more question.

Through The Uweza Foundation, David receives school supplies, a uniform, and daily meals. These basics allow him to learn without the distractions of hunger or worry. His grades have climbed steadily since he started receiving support.

When asked what he wants to be when he grows up, David grins and says he wants to be a pilot—or maybe a scientist. Either way, he knows education is the first step. At seven years old, he is already writing his own story.
